Abstract
The essay delves into the examination of the interplay between fiction and the stage within 18th-century Italian literature. It accomplishes this by scrutinizing the various ways in which the theater influences the development of the novel genre. Consequently, it identifies and categorizes the primary forms of theatrical novels: those novels that depict the world of spectacle, novels with a tragic backdrop, and novels that make use of theatrical techniques in crafting the narrative.
