Abstract
This assay sums up the short literary production of Angelo Sassoli, a Bolognese jurist, well known as the continuator of Ultime lettere di Jacopo Ortis, Marsigli publisher, 1798; then it trancribes an unpublished patriotic song - well-preserved in Archivio di Stato di Bologna - written by the same Angelo Sassoli in the occasion of his participation in a public contest which Repubblica Cispadana arranged in Ferrara, 1796, in order to provide the new-born republic with a national anthem. This discovery will come in very useful to enlighten the relationships between Sassoli and Ortis 1798.
