Abstract

The essay aims to analyze the compilation of the Beppe Fenoglio's first book of short stories, analyzing specifically the relationship between the author's will and his choices conditioned by the suggestions and requests of the Einaudian staff, Italo Calvino and Elio Vittorini in first place. The essay is part of a more general reflection about the weight of editorial intervention in the production of literary texts, which raises issues that concern not only the production circuit and authorship, but also historiography and philology.
