Abstract

This article reconstructs the attitude towards Italy by the Jeckes - the German Jews who took refuge in Palestine (today: State of Israel) during National Socialism. From the autobiographical interviews gathered in the so-called Israelkorpus a decidedly multifaceted image of fascist Italy comes to the fore: on the one hand the institutions, far from the people and subservient to the regime; on the other, many people ready to help the Jews, in a spirit of solidarity and friendship.
