Abstract
The piece is an itinerary through Tullio De Mauro's studies and considerations (sometimes published in secondary magazines) dealing with the history of Italian language, and - among the subjects examined by the scholar - it focuses on the topics that can be considered the most relevant in the discipline Bruno Migliorini founded (e.g., the presence of the Latin lexicon in the structures of Italian language, the plurilingualism of "Italy's Italies" [l'Italia delle Italie], the definition of working class Italian, the linguistic significance of Dante's personality and work.
