Abstract

After De Mauro's death (5 Jean. 2017) an impressive number of papers, essays and even books have been published investigating his contribution to all sides of the study on language, on both the national and the international scale. This paper gives an inventory of around 120 items published up to Jun 2018, at the same time trying to single out their essential guidelines. Special attention is paid to De Mauro as a public educator and a civil servant, starting from his ground-breaking study of Italy's linguistic history and his development of a truly scientific Educational linguistics.
