Abstract

In a historical moment in which both the face of the city as well as the physiognomy and identity of its inhabitants were inexorably changing, Pier Paolo Pasolini took the floor on several occasions to describe the profound change that would have led to the loss of the particular and unique realities that until then they had characterized the urban and anthropological environment of the city of Rome. Through the analysis of the poem Il pianto della scavatrice (1956), the study therefore proposes to enter into the merits of the ways of representing this passage from the point of view of those who understood its definitive character.
