Abstract
The objective of this article is to emphasize the validity of the Intercomprehension not only as a communication practice and strategy but also as a linguistic policy and ethics for the development of multilingualism, that is to say it is a teaching method used to overcome language barriers. In addition, its teaching within the educational system can be a valuable tool, not only for the development of multilingual scenarios, but also to strengthen policies of cultural integration and inclusion of diversity by contributing to the formation of an European citizenship. In fact, the Intercomprehension can contribute to the construction of a sense of belonging to an European community through the safeguarding of linguistic diversity
