Abstract
This paper analyzes some artistic representations from the (and about the) romanì world. This paper aims to cast a look over the cinematographic and poetic narrations not only as artistic representations, but also as sociologically relevant evidences. The paper also invites us to undertake a thorough reflection over the issues related to the cultural 242 identity of the romanì people, on the relations between them and the settled population and, finally, on the ways in which the many musks of the roma people and on the roma people are built. These issues will be dealt with by trying to find some sort of third way between the "objectivity" of the sociological data and the subjectivity of observations - certainly not scientific, but no less interesting - drawn from the film or poetic production, emphasizing as it is possible to capture, through artistic sensibility, aspects of a phenomenon which are overlooked by more attentive social scientists.
