Abstract
This essay examines the novel Seltsame "Sterne starren zur Erde" (2003) of the Turkish-German author Emine Sevgi Özdamar and the collection of essays "In Deutschland leben" (2004) of Iranian-German poet SAID. The focus of this work intends to show what different aspects multiculturalism may have at each different writers. Özdamar was born in Malatya in 1946. She woked in Germany as an actress, director and writer and became the symbol of a bridge-builder between the eastern and western culture. SAID is one of the most important contemporary Iranian authors. He was born in 1947 in Teheran, he came to Munich as a student in 1965, and this city is now his residence. He received many literary prizes which one may also include the management of the PEN International Centre Germany, which he held from 2000 to 2002.
