Abstract

Digital writing is different from handwriting not only for what it shows about itself but also for what lies around and beneath it. The change is not just about the tools of writing, but it also affects the way we think and practice knowledge and communication. Digital writing, usually free and without barriers, is very different from writing within the typographic cage, but it can not exist without cages: mental cages and not material ones. Social shapes of education change through writing, so the way we think and practice writing in schools have to change too.
