Abstract
Consecrator of the fame of the wooded grove and the sanctuary dedicated to Diana nemorensis in the contemporary imaginative scenario, The Golden Bough by James G. Frazer is presented in this article as a possible glocal key to understand the past and present symbolic landscape of the Nemi territory. Following the construction of the work and its reception in the Italian anthropological panorama and among the public, one intends to offer different interpretative paths useful for recomposing and relating the fragments of the cultural and patrimonial legacies that characterize the site surrounding the Nemi Museum of Roman Ships [Museo delle Navi Romane di Nemi].
