Abstract
The article presents some reflections on the possibility of resuming the investigation of Lake Nemi as part of the research project for the establishment of the ‘Documentation and Study Centre’ at the Nemi Museum of Roman Ships. A re-examination of the data acquired to date, both historical and archaeological as well as sedimentological and hydrogeological, will constitute the starting point for prefiguring new non-invasive investigations within the lake and on its shores, conducted using very high-resolution instrumentation. From these analyses new elements may emerge that will be useful in increasing our knowledge of the settlement and geo-environmental dynamics that occurred in ancient times in the context of Nemi.
