Abstract

The urban fabrics typological-process analysis experimented on numerous historical centers by the researchers who refer to the school founded by Saverio Muratori and Gianfranco Caniggia, are a usefull tool for the recognition of the built historical transformations from the beginning up to the current state. This short text retrace the searches developed on Rome starting from the fundamental study of Muratori and his collaborators at the end of the years 50 of the twentyeth cen-tury up to the most recent acquisitions which are outcomes of an intense didactic and research activity whitin the ambit of the degree in architectural restoration work at the Architecture school of the Roma Tre university. The aim of this contribution is to offer a methodological and instrumental support to the search on the San Paolino alla Regola city block which is introduced in the following essay.
