Abstract
This article is dedicated to the relationship between the critic and art historian Maurizio Fagiolo dell'Arco and the artist Giulio Paolini. It focuses mainly on two unpublished texts conceived in 1968 and 1976. Rediscovering these contributions illuminates the artist's rich bibliography around two pivotal moments of his career. At the same time it allows us to understand better a critic who, although he played a leading role in his time, has been overlooked and is due a reconsideration.
