Abstract
The thesis of the paper is that psychoanalysis might benefit of an interdisciplinary work about communication and its dynamics. The text aims at introducing three papers devoted to the links between rhetoric and psychoanalysis. The first part comments the expressions to go to loggerheads. The second and third parts dwell on the polysemy of word distance and the psychoanalytic meanings of respect, suspicion and emotional relationship. The last part is about rhetoric, epistemology and politics and it focuses on the history of the Controversial Discussions.
