Abstract
The National State Basic Law has brought to light some unresolved issues of Israeli situation: what the definitions of the State and the national State are; how to harmonize the Jewishness with the democracy; who determines who Jew is in secular and religious contexts. Was this Law really necessary? 70 years after the foundation of the State, Israel not only shows the will to perpetuate its "raison d’être" in its founding documents, but also reveals an interesting strategy of preventive military deterrence in the political field.
