Abstract

After a decade during which social concertation in Italy declined until the rejection by the Berlusconi government, its revival will require to analyse why it did not work and which are the new priorities. It is important to underline its inadequacy facing the new challenges for the Italian industrial relations after the Euro. In particular the new priorities should be: more activation for the European collective bargaining processes; the regulation of labour market flexibility and job instability; the adjustment of bargaining structure toward more decentralisation; the social pact for productivity.
