Abstract
The essay examines the influence of the case law of the Court of Justice on Spanish judges. The author's opinion is that the national judges role to enforce EC law has been modest untill today. He highlights two reasons for this: on the one hand because implementation of EC social law in Spanish labour law, after the Spain admission to the European Community, has been accomplished rapidly and without any particular problem, on the other hand, because the Spanish legal system has a specific procedure to protect fundamentals rights. Nevertheless, there is an indirect influence that is explained through the analysis of some important Court of Justice decisions.
