Abstract

The Author analyses the role played by the Court as regards French labour law. The relationship between the European Court of Justice and the national judges are described in relation to both the application of the directives on the transfer of undertakings and sex equality. Some recent cases are also analysed which show at the same time the effectiveness of EC law on the French legislation as well as the limits of the co-operation between the national courts and the Court of Justice.
