Abstract
The Author takes into consideration the possible correlations between federalism and the concept of flexibility under a double point of view. On the one hand, he underlines the consequences of flexibility/uniformity on labour law as well as the risk that in this specific field an unfair federalism might take place; on the other hand, he assumes that a federal system could encourage a better articulation of labour market regulations. The purpose is to see if the federal model can support the creation of "suitability systems" shaped according to local markets.
