Abstract
The role of the psychologists in contemporary schools is outlined. It is stressed the need that psychologists can redefine their job according to social changes and as a consequence of their interventions. Team working is the most relevant way psychologists can provide their contribution to schools. Interventions should be addressed to support students’ personal development by taking into account both their vulnerability and their potentialities. Finally, master courses seem to be adequate to train school psychologists
