Abstract
"The Baron in the Trees" is not only the novel of a youth rebellion, but also the novel of distancing the world by climbing on the branches of trees. Cosimo Piovasco di Rondò's "pathos" of distancing faces one of the salient features of his passion: jealousy. So this narrative work can be rightly called the «novel of jealousy».
