Abstract
The essay examines Banti’s work as a complex macrostructure in which the urban landscape is used as a symbolic and structural element. Represented in a lyrical and distorting way, the city of Venice becomes the metaphor for a new literary word, which resists the oblivion of time and restores the visibility and centrality of the female presence.
