Abstract

In this paper I would like to present a new and thorough analysis of Scarpa's literary adventure. My aim is to focus on his experimental writing, which frames him as a novelist, poet and playwright who explores different genres and languages. In fact, a recurrent theme in his novels and short stories is multilingualism and the intrusion of linguistic and textual fragmentation using different language styles, sometimes over-realistic, sometimes surrealistic or unreal. Moreover, I also want to discuss his role in the reaction towards the crisis of the Italian contemporary narrative.
